Some Painting Problems and How to Overcome It

Some paint problems that often arise among which a painted wall surfaces visible blemishes and paint coating having wet or saponification. To prevent these problems of course we need to know the cause first. Well, this article we present about how to solve the problem of painting. Happy reading!


Striped and Visible Surface Wet

Problems like this is because the wall has a moisture conditions and high alkaline levels. It can occur in the newly finished wall either plaster so that the workmanship is not perfect drying process. New painting on the wall requires that the wall has completely dried.

To overcome this can be done by rubbing the surface of the wall with sandpaper to make it more porous so that water will be easier to evaporate out. To eliminate the fungus that appears can be cleaned with a solution of 20% household bleach or chlorine solution, then rinse with clean water. After that make sure the wall is completely dry before applying paint.

Saponification (saponification)

Problems like this occur due to alkali attack on the layers of paint that contains oil adhesive materials such as alkyd gloss enamel. Alkali and oil will react chemically called saponification which gives the final results such as soaps and cause the paint layer becomes soft and formed a sticky blob.

Steps to prevent it is by way of the surface to be painted must be free of alkali. Not recommended wall of cement or concrete plaster newly painted with alkyd primer, but preferably with water-based acrylic paint or other types that do not contain oil. As for improvements should scrape all the paint layer and then the surface must be cleaned properly. Make sure you use a type of paint like water-based acrylic paint.
